What is Hypoxi?
About 80% of women are genetically predisposed to storing fat in at least one area of the body. This results in dissatisfaction in body image due to being unable to lose weight in these areas. Reduction of this fat can not be effectively targeted by diet or exercise alone. It requires a change in the blood circulation in that region to effectively break-down and transport fat from your problem areas.
Blood acts as the means of transporting energy throughout the body and therefore plays a crucial role in burning fat. Poor blood circulation in problem areas is the primary reason we are unable to reduce fat and cellulite despite sometimes following strict dietary regimes and high levels of physical activity.
Hypoxi technology is the revolution in body shaping therapy that most women have been looking for. Hypoxi has designed several machines to increase blood circulation through the use of vacuum technology. They are the world leaders in this technology and more than 250,000 clients testify to their success.
How Does It Work?
You can easily test where your body is predisposed to storing fat. After 30 minutes of exercise, touch your skin in different areas. The colder the surface of the skin, the less the tissue in that area is supplied with blood and the more likely that this is your fat storage area.
For many women it is the lower body that suffers from fat storage. With conventional training the upper body always warms more as it supplied with blood much better. Therefore the fat in this area is reduced much faster than the lower body. The upper body becomes slim while the fat and cellulite on women’s hips, thighs and bottoms stays put.
The answer to targeted fat reduction is an increase in blood supply to the problem areas. Hypoxi therapy achieves this through the simultaneous use of vacuum technology and fat-burning training.
The Hypoxi machine requires 30 to 40 minutes of continuous cycling to enhance fat-burning by using your muscles in the training process. However, most people find the exercise safe and comfortable, particularly if you train in the reclined version of the machine.
The central component of the Hypoxi is an ergometer encased within a vacuum chamber and a sophisticated computer system to regulate the vacuum function. The machine is programmed by a fully trained operator so that the vacuum is set to a rhythm which best suits each individual.
While cycling, the pressurised chamber stimulates blood supply to the fat tissue around the stomach, hips, thighs and bottom. The vacuum accelerates the transport of blood while these muscles are being exercised.
During the program, the fatty acids transported from the problem zone are burnt off as fuel for movement.
In addition, clients are asked to follow nutritional guidelines including not consuming carbohydrates, alcohol or caffeine for a four to six hour period immediately following their session. This is to prolong the period that your body burns fatty acids.
How well does it work?
Hypoxi has gone to extensive lengths to test the machine's ability to result in significant centimetre loss to the problem areas of hips, thighs and bottoms. In a controlled study of 530 women, those who undertook Hypoxi training achieved on average a three times higher loss of circumference in the areas of the lower body than the controlled sample who undertook conventional exercise.
Furthermore, magnetic resonance imaging proved that this circumference loss was the result of real fat degradation and not fluid loss.
Here are the results from one participant in the study after two weeks following the nutritional guidelines and undertaking Hypoxi sessions three times a week:

Dr Lenore Sauer an Austrian Nutritional and Orthomolecular specialist undertook extensive medical studies of the effectiveness of Hypoxi machines and then completed her work by participating in a trial. Here is what she had to say:
“I was interested professionally as a Doctor ... (but) .. I was also interested as a woman suffering from cellulite in the thigh and buttocks area.
“My body shape changed considerably. For the first time in my life, I observed noticeable changes and a successful reduction in the width of my problem areas. I was utterly amazed by the effectiveness of the Hypoxi equipment.”
